“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
Our Music Ministry takes to heart this encouragement from the Apostle Paul to the Colossians, and we seek to praise our gracious God for his mercy and grace while sharing the message of Christ’s atoning sacrifice on the cross at Calvary. Our church is blessed to have a variety of worship styles and musical opportunities.
Our Chancel Choir sings for our traditional worship services, and offers in worship Baroque, Classical and Romantic “classical” literature, plus current choral anthems, settings of contemporary worship songs and gospel music. Membership in the choir is open to all adults without audition. Our worship band, Ignited, leads our more contemporary worship experiences. Drawing on the most popular choruses and praise songs of today, as well as many of the earlier choruses that have stood the test of time, Ignited rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30. Our newest musical offering is an “First Tuesday Blues Jam” which meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 to 9:00pm. Have an instrument in your closet that you haven’t played for a while? Bring it in! Always wanted to sing with a band in a place other than your garage? Come give it a try! You’ll enjoy Christian fellowship and maybe even learn a few new musical tricks along the way.
