| I was born on Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba in 1953. My childhood was divided between my father's native Mandeville, Jamaica and my mother's native Key West, Florida. It was in Key West that I felt called to ministry shortly after receiving Christ into my heart.
I am a 1980 graduate of Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, KY. In 2011, I celebrated 31 years in full time pastoral ministry in churches throughout Florida.
After nearly 35 years of marriage, my wife and I became first-time parents in 2009. We flew to Addis Ababba, Ethiopia in February of 2009 to bring home our daughter, Amleset (now age 9). We are so glad that we didn’t miss the adventure of parenthood. We are truly blessed.
My passion - I love people and I love to tell them about Jesus! If someone doesn't know our Savior, my goal is to allow His Spirit to so live in my life that it becomes irresistible to him or her. If you are in the congregation, my goal is the same; with the added goal of seeing you grow closer to our Lord and maturing in your faith (Ephesians 4:9-12). I am high-energy, but not high maintenance. I like to have fun with all ages and I try not to take myself too seriously.
I love to preach and my spiritual gift is faith. I know, that I know, that I know, that I know…that the Bible is the Word of God and Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! I believe that God’s Love covers a multitude of sins and that forgiveness is the way of Christ. I long to see Jesus’ prayer in John 17 fulfilled with unity in the Church and among churches – then the world will know that Jesus was sent to redeem us and loves us (John 17:23)… |
