FAITH SHARING
As reconciled people, God works and speaks through Christians to those who have yet to accept this reconciliation. Our reconciliation expresses itself in a concrete commitment to meet the spiritual and material needs of others. Though we are not equal partners with God in this, it is after all God’s work of reconciliation, but we are dependent instrument through which God reveals his power and his forgiveness. We do not reconcile people to God but instead we invite people into the reality of this reconciliation that has already been accomplished by God in the life and death and resurrection of Jesus.
Chris Wright contends and I agree, “It is not so much the case that God has a mission for his church in the world, as that God has a church for his mission in the world. Mission was not made for the church; the church was made for God’s mission.” Remember Our “Big Idea” – Believers are CREATED to speak to others ABOUT their faith Jesus. We are reconciled by God and then given the ministry of reconciliation as Christ representatives in the world.
