Greetings Church Family,
As always, I hope you are all well. As this time of isolation moves into the slow process of moving back to normal, I realize how tough this has been on many of us.
Worry about getting sick, stress about getting the economy running again, arguments about how best to move forward, and the uncertainty of deciding what is best for you and your family have all taken a toll on people’s emotional and spiritual well being. Though things are tough, I suggest seeking the Holy Spirit’s power to remain calm and kind. This trying time will pass, the results of how you act and what others see in you will last forever.
BIG NEWS! This Afternoon at 5pm,….
….we will have a short conversation on some of the steps your church leaders are taking to be ready to return to in-person worship, when it is finally time. (“in-person,” like who thought we would ever need to explain worship in this way!) I just receive an email that our Bishop, who oversees all the United Methodist churches in Florida, has given us the go ahead to resume in-person worship after June 15th. Our Team-C, the leadership team guiding us through this trying time, we begin more detailed planning this next week to determine the specific date that we will re-open.
Galatians 6:2 reminds us to “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill* the law of Christ.” I take this to mean in part, “Be Patient, Be Flexible” as we move through this time leading up to and through re-opening. See you Friday late afternoon LIVE: watch from our Facebook page or from our FUMC Tavares website.
GREAT NEWS! THIS WEEK: May 31st is a 5th Sunday, when we support the FL UM Children’s Home. Watch a special video message during service. As you join us Sunday at 10:00am online,we will light a candle together to start our worship online. Watch from the FUCM Tavares website or from our Facebook page.
