We Need You to Make It Happen!

Greetings Church Family,

I am really excited to see you face to face (or at least our faces six feet or more apart and likely with a mask on). We are still working to be on track to get back to in-person worship in early July! YAY!

We need you to make this happen efficiently and effectively. The entire FUMC Tavares church family has always been a super team of awesome people! We thank you in advance for your shared enthusiasm and continued support through volunteering at our services to help keep everyone safe and free to worship.

Here are the re-opening plans to date:

If you are planning on returning to in-person worship, please volunteer to help make in-person worship a great and safe experience.

Choose from 1 of 3 teams to sign-up for, to be a partner-in-ministry:

1. Screening – Greet people, take temperatures, keep track of number of people in

worship, and help people maintain social distancing.

2. Welcoming – ushering folks to & from seats, and helping people maintain social

3. Cleaning – Spray the Sanctuary surfaces with cleaner after the service, and wiping

down high touch surfaces.

All volunteers and worship participants will be asked to wear masks.

I pray we will move beyond our own decision to wear/not wear a mask, to help make

others feel safe in worship.

We will be taking temperatures before people may enter the Sanctuary.

For the safety of all, entry will not be possible for anyone with a temperature above

You will need to sign up for one service out of the first two weeks we are back to in-person worship.

Once we see how many of us will be present for in-person worship, we will be better

able to determine how to proceed with insuring we do not have more attending than we

can safely seat, using social distancing.

We will begin with the one blended contemporary/traditional worship service at 10:00am (just like we are currently doing) for the first two weeks.

Once we get the details worked out (and more volunteers), we will transition to one traditional worship service and one contemporary worship service.

All services will continue to be available by live stream & online.

Galatians 6:2 reminds us to Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”  I take this to mean in part, “Be Patient, Be Flexible” as we move through this time leading up to and through re-opening.

In addition to reopening for worship in person, we want to share some other very important information with you. Please read. . .
