Greetings Church Family,
I am really excited to see you face to face (or at least our faces six feet or more apart and likely with a mask on.) We are still working to be on track to get back to in-person worship in early July. I invite you to check out my latest videos: Christian Response to Racism, and FUMC Tavares Re-opening Plans at the bottom of this post or on our YouTube Channel. And in addition...we are so excited that we only need 9 more subscribers to reach 100 subscribers on our FUMC Tavares YouTube Channel! Please visit our channel and become a subscriber.
Here are the re-opening plans to date:
WE NEED YOU! One critical need, if not the main one, is for you to volunteer to help make in-person worship a great and safe experience. Click Here to fill out our Return To Worship Team form
There are three teams you can sign-up for, to be a partner-in-ministry: 1. Screening – Greet people, take temperatures, keep track of number of people in worship and help people maintain social distancing. 2. Welcoming – ushering folks to & from seats and helping people maintain social distancing. 3. Cleaning – Spray the Sanctuary surfaces with cleaner after the service. We will be taking people’s temperatures before they enter the Sanctuary.
All volunteers and worship participants will be asked to wear masks. I am aware that some of you do not feel the need to do this (myself included), yet I hope we will move beyond our own wants and thoughts to make others feel safe so they too can come back to worship. We will revisit this decision as more information becomes available. Until we know how many people will be returning to in-person worship, you will need to sign up to come to worship either on the web site or by calling the church. This is so we can allow everyone t o experience in-person worship in a fair manner while no exceeding the maximum number of people our Sanctuary can safely handle with social distancing in place.
We will begin with the one blended contemporary and traditional worship service at 10am (just like we are currently doing) for a few weeks.
Once we get the details worked out (and more volunteers,) we will transition to one traditional worship service and one contemporary worship service.
Friday night at 5:00PM... …on Face book Live, or sometime after that, if you watch it later from our website.
We miss you all a lot! Peace, Pastor Mike 407-754-4633 05/2020 Christian Response to Racism
